New release for BubbaTwo: 1.0.13

I got the same message as Peter and Gustav above, "0 package(s) to update.No packages to update at this moment."

apt-get dist-upgrade does not install anything either.

I'm still stuck on 1.0.8-1.

All suggestions and solutions are welcome.

This could be a tragical time-difference problem; one way to solve it, is to force a full read of any sources; this by via ssh issue following command:

rm -f /var/lib/apt/lists/*

(don't write -rf, the partial dir must be left there)
I look into to add this "hack" to future updates.

Can you check your sources.list and verify that marielle/stable is available there, the version of php5-cgi that should be installed is 5.2.6-5ex1

Edit: saw your sources.list there, try change "stable" to "marielle".

Turned out that I had commented a few lines too much in the /etc/apt/sources.list when I installed rsync ("Also, don't forget to restore /etc/apt/sources.list when you are done"). My mistake and many thanks to Excito for the rapid support.

Last week I took the time to update to the new release.

Starting from 1.0.8-1 I connected to Bubba (ssh), su-ed (no pun intended) and started to backup some data I surely wanted to be able to restore (just in case).

Apart form the standard Bubba, currently I run the following 'extra's':

- postfix, manually config'd for 3 domains.
- dovecot, pop3 services
- IRCd, irc server
- IRCServices, (for IRC server)
- irssi, irc client
- dnsmasq, manually config'd for dhcp,dns,pxe
- ddclient (to keep dyndns.org happy)
- 2 extra 'utility websites' (apache)

After the backup I ran:

apt-get update
and
apt-get dist-upgrade

After a while (few minutes) Bubba reported to be ready, with no errors or warnings.

Note 1) : When asked for a password for a DB upgrade, I supplied an empty password. (Which was correct I read elsewhere...)

Rebooted Bubba.

Bubba reported to run version 1.0.13

Restarted several services (still have to add some in init.d) and waited about an hour to collect some data in the logs.

As far as I could see, no previous settings were overwritten so backups remained unused.

Minor issue: logrotate started to complain about horde3.log duplicate (mailing me daily ;-) so thats one thing I have to fix. Probably same way as previously done (mv /dev/null ;-)

Everything working like a charm, no errors or warnings found, I installed Squeezecenter (Finally!: the reason for getting the Bubba) by issueing:

apt-get install squeezecenter

Happy Bubba again. No warnings, no errors. After starting squeezecenter, Bubba's cpu finally got some real work to do. Indexing about 25.000 mp3's (our full CD collection plus some downloads). CPU went to ~95%, devided between Squeeze and Mysql.
However Bubba remained very responsive through ssh. and smtp.

Left Bubba alone for the night and checked the logitech squeezebox*** the morning after.
It started to play any song I requested, no interruptions, no cut-off after 3 min, no problems AT ALL.
***Note I have a wired connection to the SqueezeBox, NOT by WLAN! (while on WLAN streaming inet-radio stopped as soon I started to use our (wireless Siemens-) telephone :-)

My Bubba BTW is standing on one leg only, i.e. LAN connected, WAN not used and services needed externally are exposed through gateway/firewall.
'interfaces' is manually set to:

address 192.168.0.211
gateway 192.168.0.1
broadcast 192.168.255.255
iface eth0 inet dhcp

I prefer to configure things by hand and not by using the web-interface (which proved a plus when setting ip gw and dns ip's)

Sofar, Bubba is _the_ mini server and even more. It's much more flexible than I've ever expected it to be. It runs anything I can come up with. No more buzzing sounds at night but we had to turn UP the heating lately due to the drop in 'contribution' from other 'powersources'.

Do I need to say I'm a very satisfied customer?
