Release notes for Excito Bubba 2&3 software version 2.5.0.1
Re: Release notes for Excito Bubba 2&3 software version 2.5.
Can you give me the output of ifconfig? Did you do any non-standard (non-web-UI) network settings?

Can't give you the output right now (at work, sorry). But the LAN is IP address 192.168.1.4/24 and the gateway is my router 192.168.1.254. I don't use the WAN.
This hasn't changed in the last 1.5 years. As said, on the commandline it all looks fine. It picks up/sends mail without any problems, as it did for the last 1.5 years. No errors in the logs.

Sorry, no that's not the problem, as said command line does work fine.
I'll investigate tonight, see what I can find out.

The message "No functional Internet connection was found" has to come from apt; the web interface just echo's this response. Assuming earlier reported cases are correct in that this is the result of a DNS lookup time-out, the straightforward conclusion would therefore have to be that the web application either shuts something down that it shouldn't (but then other people would experience the same problem, right?) or somehow puts too much strain on the system (which you should be able to avoid by shutting down other high memory and/or CPU utilizing services).

Yesterday evening I noticed that 2.5.0.2 is out. I upgraded it through the webinterface. That went fine, although I had the message "No internet..." as mentioned before after it finished. I rebooted, just to be sure I'm running all the fixes:
- Backup works fine now
- The message about no internet is gone as well, when I now do an upgrade through the webinterface, it just tells me that there isn't any, as in the past.

We still cannot reproduce the "internet connection" issue, if you ever see it again, please let us know.

Hi,
I'm seeing this even after 2.5.1 update. I made the update successfully using the web ui even thou I got this error at the end.
Aptitude and apt-get works perfect but web ui gives "No functional Internet connection was found" error at the end of the update/update check.
Couldn't find anything from logs.
I tried to make some sense on the web-admin php files and as far as I understood it uses AF_UNIX sockets during the update. Maybe the connection error comes from these sockets.

I got this fixed by running
sudo /etc/init.d/bubba-apt restart
sudo /etc/init.d/bubba-apt restart
