Password protect web pages on Bubba 2

Anybody know an easy way to configure a simple password protection system that works on a particular folder - i.e. I want to protect access to just one folder which allows web pages stored there to require a login before viewing the webpage.

This leads on to the web server - can I access the apache settings & if so how do I get into the files system?
