copy to usb disk

Post by tom.nijns »

Hi,

I'm wondering how to copy files on my bubba to an attached usb-disk.
I connected the disk as admin in the Disk-section, but when I try to copy files using the Filemanager, the button to submit the location gets grayed out. Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way?

It appears to be NTFS.

So most probably this is because you can only read, but not write NTFS on linux per default.

You would need to install additional software to do so, namely ntfs-3g. Try "apt-get install ntfs-3g", maybe that makes it work?

Alternatively, you could use FAT instead of NTFS, if you do not have files >=4GB.

Hi,

I installed ntfs-3g and could connect the drive. I had to copy a lot of files and it took me 2 days, but in the end none of the copied files showed up. I'm going to try again when I have time again.
Thanks for the help!
