I also bought it at Ibood. I connected the B3 to the my procurve switch true the WAN port and my laptop to the LAN port. I inserted the USB, presed the knob while inserting the power cable and releesed it when I got a green light. I get a green light for 5 seconds and after it blinks purple. I ...

At last after 4 days trying I finally succeeded in 2 hours to set-up the firmware on my 2 B3's.
I think this made it happens
I formatted an other USB-Stick with LED (brand Kruidvat 4GB)
I deleted the partitions on my 2 TB HDD's
I released the power button after +- 5 seconds after powering up.

Yes I opened the files (without saving anything). I will start all-over downloading and direct on a fat32 formated
USB-stick.
I presume an internet connection is not required for installing the firmware. Please confirm

I yesterday received 2 B3 units, which I bought via Ibood .
The units were delivered as mentioned without a hard disk drive.
So I installed in each two, a new 2TB Green WD20EZRX 3,5" HDD according to the instructions
mentioned on the the enclosed leaflet "Hard Drive Mounting Instructions"
