Re: Bubbagen live-USB for B3 version 1.16 revision 1 (Gentoo Linux 6.1.41)
Hello Gordon,
somehow I can't get access to the web interface after installing this image. http://b3/ shows "Redirecting..." and then it can't find the page. Access through ssh is functional. When I plug in a PC into the LAN on B3 it can't get an IP. I tried several times with different USB sticks ...

Re: Easyfind end of service
Noone contacted me, though the offer is still up. I can try to get another IP address, once I know how the service is supposed to run.

I just noticed the current kernel is missing Wireguard support, opened an issue on Github: https://github.com/Excito/kernel-5.10/issues/2

Re: NextCloud setup on B3, complete How-To
It's been a while since you wrote this guide, huh?
Fortunately, this still works. I used PHP 7.4 (it's the latest currently available for our little ARM), which forced me to use NextCloud 25.0.5, as the latest only works with PHP 8.0. Perhaps I'll set up cross compilation toolchain to build PHP 8.0 ...

Re: Easyfind end of service
I can host the service on a VM at home, I have decent symmetrical connection (~250 Mbps). Interested?

Anyone installed HomeAssistant on B3?
Just checking, has anyone tried/managed to install HA on B3? I have (mostly) retired my B3s, but they seem to me like a perfect hardware platform for HA.

Re: End of Arch Linux support for Excito devices
Nah, it's neither unexpected nor really suprising, it's about time to put older hardware to rest. I was using Arch mostly because rolling distro is less management overhead than upgrading entire base once in a while, but I'm actually better versed in Debian ^^.

End of Arch Linux support for Excito devices
Turns out Arch Linux decided to no longer support ARMv5 and ARMv6 architectures; no updates are possible since they 404'd the repositories.
...and now back to reinstalling my *everything* with Debian :/ Can't really afford to use more than 1 distro on my gear.

Just an idea.
What makes B3 special for me is the format, looks, silent operation and 2 ethernet ports. As we all know, CPU is now nearly ancient, and 512 MB RAM is... not much.
You know what would be awesome? Same IO capabilities, but as an adapter shield for Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4.
Shame ...

Re: Leaking RTC batteries
First thing is to thoroughly clean with rubbing alcohol and dry it out. After this, you can inspect if any traces are corroded - using something like contact spray may help a little bit; outside of that you might need someone to repair it for you.

Install system via x64 Linux?
Hi,
I am wondering if it's possible to install OS in "passive" mode - B3's HDD connected via USB to x64 host system?
I guess there's more to it than just copying files to the drive, updating flash to new kernel location for example? If so, how?

Re: Upgrade all the way from squeeze :D
As I'm saying, it's not my system, it's my friend's. I'm not sure what's installed there, it was installed 4-5 years ago and never updated (LAN with NAT, so not THAT bad).
I guess he likes Excito interface, any way to keep that?
