Re: B3 update kills fireplay [Solved]
Hi, I solved it. Somehow minidlna was running on my B3 with software version 2.6. I don't now why, I have had this problem for some time. So I fixed it, stopped minidlna with /etc/init.d/minidlna stop and started forked-daapd (which was not running) with /etc/init.d/forked-daapd start. That solved ...

Re: B3 update kills fireplay [Solved]
Ok I figured it out. Minidlna was running, but this is a legacy implementation. I stopped and started forked-daapd. Now everything is fine. Cannot figure out why minidlna was running though.
Anyway I consider it solved.

Has anyone emulated a B3 (or B2)?
Hi, has anyone emulated a B3 (or B2) on a host system? I was thinking of 'messing' with the website, but rather not on the B3 that runs smoothly. My idea is to run the b3 image in an emulator on a linux debian system using QEMU. I would then have a safe development environment. Has anyone done ...

Re: Summer time on B3
Thank for the response. Yes UTC is set to yes. I switched the automatic update off and back on again
, and it subsequently updated. I don't fully understand, but it is solved.

Summer time on B3
My B3 did not update to summer time this weekend, automatic update is set and the time zone is correct. I have checked that ntpd is running. Any ideas please?

Re: Hourly snapshot-style backup from B3 to external disk.
Rrsnapshot is a very similar alternative. Works a charm, also to use Bubba to pull backups from other PCs.
Nice to know, I had no experience with the rsnapshot package. I had another look at the documentation and noticed there is a way to exclude directories, contrary to my original post. There ...

No it is not in the Wiki yet. I thought I would put it on the forum first, to see if there is interest and await response from other forum members. If there is interest I will put in the Wiki.

Hourly snapshot-style backup from B3 to external disk.
General
On a B3 I use scripts to create an hourly backup (snapshot) of the data directories on the server for all the users on the system and for the storage directory. The backup is on an external (esata) disk.
I am fairly lazy and automating the backups is a way to make sure I do have backups ...

Re: Samba-reconnect needed in order for Printers to work?
I don't think you should have to log on before you can use your printers, I don't. Do you use the same usernames and passwords in windows and on the B3?

Re: HID device that used to work on bubba2 fails on b3
Hi, did you solve the problem? I have someting comparable. I cannot get nut to login to my ups (an Eaton Ellipse) through usb-hid. I have set up the udev rules, but they don't seem to make any difference, the rights are not changed after I reconnect the ups.

Query on entries in aut log
Hi, I am not very familiar with authentication on linux and have a question to understand the log entries.
About every five minutes there are the following lines in the auth.log.
Feb 7 13:10:01 b3 CRON[6511]: pam_env(cron:session): Unable to open env file: /etc/default/locale: No such file or ...
