Does wifi work with this install on a B2? Or if not, can I make it work myself without too much work?

Re: Use Lvm on new install?
Makes sense! I always wondered how the radius difference on the disk was handeled.
The disk (2tb) is still formatting, I think. Atleast it is blinking, making some hdd noise once every two seconds, and reads from the usb key. Hope it will be done soon.

Re: Any help with compiling and installing spindown+auto mou
No scripting or compiling is needed fo this.
Use fstab to automount disks. It is located in /etc folder.
Use hdparm -S command to set spindown time for the disk.
Googling "fstab automount" and "hdparm spindown time"
Should get you going.

Re: Use Lvm on new install?
That is a lot! At the moment im doing a complete reinstall and format with the usb stick. I guess I can make a new partition table and install on the disk without formatting it over again. It has been formatting for approximatley 30 hrs now...

Re: Use Lvm on new install?
Interesting, however I could not find that post. However it seems like a better idea to have the swap partition closer to the root one. Did you gain much performance on file transfer for instance?
Anyway, why do you choose such a large root partition? I sized it to 3Gb due to the fact that I will ...

Use Lvm on new install?
I am reinstalling my b2 with a new disk. However, I wonder if it will be better off by not using lvm2. Just disable it in the install config. I never use extra disks et anyway..

I struggeled to get the bubbabackup to work too. Always some issues so I ended using rsync scripts instead, or just run the command directly over ssh by smartphone.

Re: replace B2 hard disk
The embedded wdidle tool only works on a B3. The sata controller in B2 is not compatible, thus you need to connect it to a computer.

Re: replace B2 hard disk
Also if you buy a wd green disk, consider turning off head parking. You need to connect the disk to a computer and run the wdidle3 tool/script.
And dont forget to put the heat conductive tape on the new disk.

Log in as admin,
Settings -> Logs, and then find bubba-backup.log
I would recommend ssh login and use rsync+crontab instead. I had too many problems with the bubba-backup before...

Re: Open source B4 development
Thank you for the feedback! I think for the casing the cheapest option could be to use some big hdd casing off ebay and then implement the Circuit board. CB is another thing, I know custom design CB got cheaper in the later years due to the pick and place machines. And usually you can have scematics ...
