Re: Can not restore Bubba2
Hi Florian, sorry that you are having troubles. And with the original Excito stick, it's the same? (You should not re-format or re-partition that one, just in case this is your issue).
No,I did not do touch that one except reading it (in order to see how it is configured), but even that was ...

Can not restore Bubba2
Hello,
I tried to upgrade my Bubba2 from software version 1.9 something, but it failed. According to what I found here I tried to reinstall it from USB stick but so far I had no success, neither with my original Stick bought from Excito nor from Sticks I made myself for the new Version.
This is ...

Re: Network and disk throughput
Yes, thank you, with cp it is about 5 times faster, which is good.
I am actually quite surprised, as I used rsync with the "--whole-file" switch, which should in theory disalble the whole delta computation and checksum thing and perform similar to cp.
The reason I did not use cp was that it did ...

Re: Network and disk throughput
I try to rsync some truecrypt volumes from an external esata to a external usb (for a test). The Performance is terrible, around 2 MB/s (I crosshecked this, it is true, not a measurement fault):
test_4gb.tc
4666163200 100% 1.64MB/s 0:45:19 (xfer#1, to-check=17/18)

Re: copy to usb disk
So most probably this is because you can only read, but not write NTFS on linux per default.
You would need to install additional software to do so, namely ntfs-3g. Try "apt-get install ntfs-3g", maybe that makes it work?
Alternatively, you could use FAT instead of NTFS, if you do not have files ...

Re: More Loop Devices (Kernel Argument)
Thank you very much, mknod worked. :D
I tried to use mknod before, but it did not work, I guess I did not do it correctly. And on the internet it said I have to configure the module, which is now compiled into the kernel, therefore I assumed I had to parameterize the kernel... Anyway, thank you ...

Re: More Loop Devices (Kernel Argument)
Has really none yet configured kernel parameters? Or is the answer too obvious? I would really be gratefull for a hint.

More Loop Devices (Kernel Argument)
Hello,
Does anyone know how to pass a kernel argument on bubba2? Would I have to manipulate the u-boot loader somehow?
I installed truecrypt (via the excelent manual here in the forum) want to mount several devices. Unforuntately, I need more than the installed 8 loopback devices for that, and it ...
