Re: Gigabit LAN connection with an average speed of 2,5 MB p
Would I be right in guessing that the faster CPU in the B3 has fixed this problem for those who have upgraded?

Have you tried visiting http://bubba:3689/index.html and manually starting a scan from there?

Re: Gigabit LAN connection with an average speed of 2,5 MB p/s
I'm despondent. I took my courage in both hands and upgraded the kernel to 2.6.31.7 from the unstable repo but see no discernible improvement in network performance. I'll have to see what happens with other hardware on the same switch.

Worth looking at www.rsync.net
$0.72 per GB per month, secure and well established, with simple scriptable backups.

Re: Squeezecenter / BBC iPlayer broken after update
Just for information - I still couldn't get things to work with faad : squeezecenter thought it was playing the program but no sound. Updated iPlayer and selected MP3 rather than AAC and all is fine, albeit at slightly reduced quality. Where's the Vorbis option???

Re: My Bubba2 - new install - new user
On my Bubba|2 squeezecenter (idling) takes about 3% CPU but 30% memory - seems fair to me.

Re: Squeezecenter / BBC iPlayer broken after update
Bad form, I know, but problem solved.
In my case it was just faad that was missing.
Hope that helps someone else.
Charles
Code: Select all
apt-get install faad libfaad0
/etc/init.d/squeezecenter restart
Hope that helps someone else.

Squeezecenter / BBC iPlayer broken after update
I've updated my Bubba|Two and my Squeezecenter BBCiPlayer plugin recently. Both updates seemed to go fine but I now can't play back AAC encoded iPlayer files - the entry in SqueezeCenter/Settings/Advanced/FileTypes just says 'Disabled' for AAC.

Re: Gigabit LAN connection with an average speed of 2,5 MB p/s
Thanks - I had only done a warm reboot so it was worth a try. Sadly, there's no improvement after power-cycling either

No improvement after upgrading to 1.2.1, unfortunately.

Re: Gigabit LAN connection with an average speed of 2,5 MB p/s
I'm contemplating moving to the unstable tree to try to solve this problem - any experience from folk about just how unstable it is?
How about going back to the regular release if unstable doesn't help me?
Just how brave/foolhardy am I being, given that everything else is working fine at the moment ...

Re: Problems upgrading my new Bubba Two
I found that the Bubba had rebooted successfully but just not re-established communication with my browser. Close browser and reopen it (when the Bubba light has stopped flashing) and you should be fine.

Re: Horde email filtering
Did you get seive to work? I've tried a while ago to get a Bubba|Two / Seive / IMAP / KMail solution working and didn't manage it, but I never really worked out which of the components was failing, except that I know straight unfiltered IMAP works fine.
